Direct Route

 

Take Highway 61 north from Duluth to Two Harbors. Take County Road 2 north (about 50 miles) to State Highway 1 (Make sure you follow the signs for Lake County 2 and Isabella. When you reach Highway 1, turn right going east approximately 6 miles to the Knotted Pine Resort.

 

Turn left at the Knotted Pine resort onto Mitawan Lake Road.  Go north on Mitawan Lake road for about 5 miles…. The road will turn to gravel as you continue north.  You will pass a road on your right named Steam Haul Lake.  Continue on down to Mitawan Lake road which will be the next right hand turn.  Follow Mitawan Lake road as it narrowly goes between Mitawan Lake and Kitigan Lake.  Continue on the road, always staying right.  You will soon see Mitawan Lake on your right side.   Look for  fire number 10660 and you have arrived!

 

Scenic Lake Shore Route

 

Take Highway 61 north from Duluth and about 5 miles north of Silver Bay take a right turn after mile marker 59 turn left onto State Highway 1 (just past Tettegouche State Park).  Follow Highway 1 about a half an hour to the Knotted Pine Resort.  Turn right onto Mitawan Lake road at this resort.  Go north on Mitawan Lake road for about 5 miles…..  The road will turn to gravel as you continue north.  You will pass a road on your right named Steam Haul Lake.  Continue on down to Mitawan Lake road which will be on the next right hand turn.  Follow Mitawan Lake road as it narrowly goes between Mitawan Lake and Kitigan Lake.  Continue on the road, always staying right.  You will soon see Mitawan Lake on your right side. Look for fire number number 10660 and pull in.

 

You can’t get lost because the road ends soon after our address, so you will know if you have missed it.
