Winter Opening Instructions

Check-Out Time: 12: Noon - Check-In Time: 3:00 PM

Water System: Go to the Pump Room (in main bed). Turn "Pump" and "Water Heater" switches on. Both are on the wall to your left.
(PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE) any of the other equipment controls in this room!!

Heating: there is electric baseboard heating in both bedrooms and the bathroom. The main room has a gas heater with a thermostat on the wall. Please conserve energy as much as possible.

Sauna: A separate sauna building is provided. Fire it up and enjoy a plunge into the lake after-words. If you use a candle in the sauna use the glass plates provided to assure safety.

Toilet: We have an electric toilet; it works very similar to a water toilet. Please use paper liner each time - (in box next to toilet). Cycle is 1 hour. Toilet can be used while cycling.

Bio-degradable soaps: bio-degradable shampoos & dish-soap are provided. Do not bring or use any products that you bring. Unless you know that they are green. Thanks.

BBQ: We have a Barbeque Grill available, please bring charcoal & starter

Drinking Water: All cabin water comes from a shallow pump. We filter the water twice, once with a whole house filter and again at the kitchen sink with an ultra fine micron carbon filter. If you have any health conditions that would be of concern, please bring filtered drinking water of your own.

If something is not right or broken, Please let us know as soon as you are able.

Winter Cabin Closing Instructions -Check-Out List

(wrap the key is an extra sheet of paper)

Please Check off each line Item on the left of this Check List

1. Latch both screened porch doors from inside.

2. Clean Cabin Well. All cleaning supplies are in bathroom tall closet
(If you requested maid service cleaning does not apply to you)

3. Turn "OFF" Water Pump and Hot Water Heater in Utility Room off of the main bathroom. (Close the Utility Room Door)

4.Turn Baseboard Electric Heat and lights "OFF" in both Bedrooms and close the doors
(Do not change any other electric heaters) in the cabin - they are back up heaters

5. Turn "Down" Gas Heater Thermostat in Living Room to 50 degrees (Thermostat is on the wall). (Do not shut off)  

7. Wood Stove Door. Make sure the wood stove door is shut & air intake is closed. Door swivels up from underneath stove.

8. Lock both bedroom outdoor doors

9. Take Out all Garbage & Recyclables. Please line plastic bins with plastic bags (provided).

10. Take-Out all Food from fridge, Please do not leave any food (Shut off water faucet in kitchen sink)

11. Pull down all shades, Turn off all lights and fans

12. Lock front door & mail keys with filled check-out list. Thanks

THESE WINTER CLOSING INSTRUCTIONS ARE VERY CRITICAL to avoid damage and that is why we ask you to follow this check list:  Please make sure you check things off as you do them.
